Dr. Chapuis has been a specialist in emergency medicine since 1997. He has been a hospital practitioner at Grenoble CHU (University Hospital Center) specializing in mountain rescue for 17 years, head of Centre 15 at SAMU (EMS) 38 and then creator of CNR 114. He is currently a professional firefighter and helicopter rescue specialist at Departmental Fire and Rescue Service SDIS 34.
