Dr Hervé ROY

Emergency doctor – Medical Director of the Bourgogne Franche Comté Emergency Network

Hervé Roy is a hospital practitioner specialized in emergency medicine. After 30 years spent at the SAMU of the CHU of Dijon, including 15 years as head of the prehospital sector (SAMU-SMUR-Centre 15), he joined the Bourgogne Franche Comté Emergency Network at the beginning of 2021 to become head of the medical direction from the beginning of 2022. Hundreds of hours spent in the Dijon heliSMUR have given him a wide experience in both primary and secondary missions. The same goes for the regulation of heliborne SMURs. He also participated in the implementation of a large air evacuation operation of resuscitation patients during the first COVID wave in his region.

He holds numerous diplomas related to emergency medicine (disaster medicine, hyperbaric and underwater medicine, mountain medicine, forensic medicine, ….), and has also had experience in emergency rescue in disaster areas, cyclones and earthquakes within a French NGO (Secouristes Sans Frontières).

Passionate about medical training based on practical situations, he is an ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) course director and ATLS (Advanced Trauma Life Support) instructor. He is also a certified medical simulation trainer.

Dr. Roy joined the Academy of Medicine Foundation’s team of trainers in 2019. He is an active member of the HEMS scientific committee within this foundation.
